Our Big Surprise!
In honor of my family
Being together here today
I thought it would be fun
To create a poem to say
A few things on my mind
Looking back and then ahead
As I wonder what exactly
In a minute will be said
Jose and I have been thinking
About what it is we drive
Comparing our van and truck
And seating seven vs. five
It’s no secret I’m competitive
In most everything I do
While I might not have the firstborn
The youngest soon is due
Boy or girl is still a mystery
But we plan to take a peek
We should know before much longer
Since I’m in my 13th week
October 9 is the date we’re told
Baby four is to arrive
I hope it’s a boy for Jose’s sake
Or how ever will he survive?!
So if all goes well when we celebrate
Our family birthdays come this fall
Baby Diaz will arrive here first
Beginning big things with someone small
Glam-ma, Pop-Pop, sisters dear
I’m starting the search right now
Recruiting baby-sitters cause
We’ll have to get out somehow
Seriously though, this little one’s lucky
To be joining this crazy crew
Having recovered from our big surprise
It’s been fun to surprise you, too!
